Prime Power History

In 1983, late founder Roger Bisher established Prime Power to serve the industrial, commercial, and utility markets with custom-designed large static exciters and automatic standby emergency generator switchgear in low- and medium-voltage configurations. Widely recognized for his can-do attitude and genius for all things electrical, Bisher quickly established a reputation for excellence in the industry.

In 1987, Addie Mathes joined Bisher to help transform the one-man custom solution provider into an industry leader. Together they assembled an engineering staff that worked closely with Bisher to uphold the high standards Prime Power was founded on.

In 1992, Mathes recognized a need for a service provider to maintain equipment manufactured by Prime Power. With this motivation in mind, she applied her business acumen to found Prime Power Services and hire two of the regions leading power generation experts, John Banko and Richard Knittel, to meet the needs of Prime Power's loyal customers. Prime Power Services branched out to cover more terrain by opening offices in North Carolina headed up by power generation expert Steve Jarvis. With the addition of Prime Power Services, the manufacturing team complimented the endeavor to provide the most comprehensive service to the emergency power industry.

Prime Power Services employs only the most talented engineers and field technicians to support the needs of its family of customers across the southeast. Prime Power's employees include some of the most respected names in the on-site power maintenance business. The Project Team is made up of electrical and mechanical engineers who have more than 200 years of combined experience with more than 7 generator types and 13 different engine makes.
