ISAM – Inside Strategic Account Manager

The Inside Strategic Account Manager is a support role that works with the outside Strategic Account Managers (SAMs). They are to assist their associated SAM to develop, grow, maintain, and improve relationships with customers with goals of having them purchase our products and services. By helping manage and build rapport with customers, ISAMs promote the growth of Prime Power in three main categories including: multiyear contracts, base business (general quotes and contract proposals), and engineering quotes and projects.


ISAM Core Competencies:

  • Capable of thoroughly understanding the sales process, including the ability to analyze competitive landscapes for securing business.

  • Possess and demonstrate superior time management skills.
  • Have a fundamental understanding of electricity and power or the aptitude to grasp its understanding.
  • Know how to decipher electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics or demonstrate aptitude.

ISAM Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creating sales proposals to drive continuous improvement and generate new opportunities and revenue within a given sales territory or market.
  • Following up on quotes, contract renewals, contract proposals, and engineering project quotes.
  • Sourcing RFPs to vendors for bidding engineering quotes and projects.
  • Conducting customer facility site surveys for data collection for sales proposals.
  • Creating demand by pursuing leads via cold calling, bid websites, research, etc.
  • Reporting of all sales activity into CRM, including appointments, calls, leads, account and opportunity updates, NFPA 110 presentations, etc.
  • Supporting the outside SAM with account information, appointment scheduling.
  • Working with other members of the sales team, support personnel, and other company departments, including billing issues, adjustments, credits, open tickets, etc.

ISAM Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in business, economics, professional sales or similar is preferred
  • A minimum of two (2) years ​of successful inside or outside sales experience is important.
  • Knowledge or understanding of energy industry would be helpful, but not required.
  • CRM experience or similar preferred.
